We are thrilled to present to you the much-anticipated musical journey - "Cranes in the Moonlight" by the virtuoso James Filkins. As the exclusive music label entrusted with the honour of unveiling this extraordinary album, we invite you to embark on a unique and enchanting experience that transcends musical boundaries.

After a decade-long hiatus, James Filkins returns to the studio with a renewed passion and an unwavering dedication to his craft. "Cranes in the Moonlight" is the result of this artistic revival, featuring 12 new compositions crafted with the collaboration of exceptionally talented musicians from across the globe.

This album, a testament to James Filkins' exceptional skill, offers a harmonious blend of acoustic, ambient, new age, jazz, Celtic, and chill genres. It beautifully encapsulates the essence of acoustic guitar-based compositions while seamlessly integrating an array of instruments, including cello, violin, flute, accordion, electric guitar, and percussion.

Each track on "Cranes in the Moonlight" is a musical journey in itself. From the acoustically melodic to the moody and sonically textured, the album invites you to explore the emotions and stories woven into every note.

The global ensemble of musicians brought together for this project adds their unique flavors and colors to the compositions. Polish cellist Josia Cieslak, Turkish accordionist Alex Somov, Canadian guitar virtuoso Noah Zacharin on electric guitar, Peruvian flautist Luis Vilca, English violinist Jess Townsend, Italian percussionist Silvio Centamore, and Australian guitarist Steve Reinthal, not only contribute their incredible talents but also play an integral role in the mixing of the album.

Inspired by the serene and awe-inspiring landscapes of Northern Lower Michigan, where he resides, James Filkins has titled some of the compositions to pay homage to his surroundings. The evocative cover artwork, crafted by renowned Northern Michigan artist Glenn Wolff, visualizes the album's title track, adding an extra layer of depth to the experience.

"Cranes in the Moonlight" takes its name from a magical spectacle that James Filkins has had the privilege to witness. A sedge of Sandhill Cranes, congregating on a nearby lake, offers a mesmerizing display during late summer and fall evenings. Their graceful, almost dance-like movements in the moonlight sparked James' imagination, pondering whether like humans, these ancient birds are also moved by some inner music, hidden deep within their beings.

James Filkins himself shares these moments of wonder, taking his paddle board out on the lake in the evenings, getting as close as possible to these magnificent creatures, listening to their prehistoric sounds, and watching them cavort and socialize under the moon's soft glow. It's from these profound experiences that "Cranes in the Moonlight" was born - an album that not only reflects the marvel of nature but also explores the profound connection between music and movement.

We invite you to dive into "Cranes in the Moonlight," a captivating musical odyssey that transcends borders, genres, and expectations. James Filkins, along with a team of exceptional musicians, takes you on a journey that resonates with the rhythms of nature and the timeless melodies of the soul. This album is a testament to the power of music to evoke emotions, stir the imagination, and transport you to a realm where the moonlight dances with the cranes, and the music weaves stories in the night.
